The truth about HDMI cables

without comments

When you purchase a new HD big screen TV for your home, you are often coerced by the staff at a local big box retailer to buy an expensive HDMI cable, i.e. Monster Cable. They state that the quality will be poor if you opt for a cheaper cable. They couldn’t be any further from the truth.

In a recent test between a high end Monster ($150.00) cable versus a Blue Jeans Cable($5.00), the tests found no difference between the 2 in quality. Quality was only sacrificed when the cable exceeded 12 meters in length. You see, they might have had a point with an analog coax cable, but HDMI is digital, so this is not the same premise.

So, if you are in the market for a big screen TV, get the cable cheaply online first, and then get the TV. Tell the kids at Best Buy that a digital cable is a digital cable. So there!!
